Our Favourite Winter Warmers and How to Chose the Right Quilt For You.

Our Favourite Winter Warmers and How to Choose Your Quilt!

The change of season from Autumn to Winter is usually a major reason for our customer to come and visit us to get their homes Winter ready!!
So we wanted to put together our favourite winter warmers to help all our customers decide what they need to create that perfect warm and cozy feel....
What's the one thing you can put into any room that will instantly warm up your space without using any electricity??? RUGS!!!
We constantly have new stock arriving at our Rugs store located directly across from Home On Darley and have so many gorgeous rugs to chose from
From gorgeous Wool, Polypropylene indoor/outdoor rugs, Jute and Sisal, we have something for every room in every home. We have also recently added Moroccan Wool rugs and 100% Hemp rugs to our list of gorgeous things.. These are all hand made, one off pieces with no two the same!!!
Warmer bedding is one of our biggest sellers, mainly quilts! So how do you know which is the right one for you??
Here are a couple of questions to ask yourself to help..
  1. Do you feel the cold easily? If Yes, you might be better suited to Feather and Down. Down has the highest fill quality of all quilt fillings available, but without the weight that gives that heavy feeling. If you don't mind the weight, Wool is also a great option for those who feel the cold. The Natural fibre will help to keep you warm, but is also a breathable product that regulates to your body temperature.
Synthetic fibres such a microfibre, retain heat so will be very warm and a good lower price option than the Wool and Down products.
  2. Do you have allergies? Wool is naturally hypoallergenic, antibacterial and resistant to dust mites, so it probably to best option if you find you have any dust mite allergies or hay fever. Unless the product has had an anti-allergic treatment, its best to stay away from Feather and Down products.
  3. Do you overheat easily? Natural fibres such as Wool or Down and Feather, will naturally regulate your body temperature which will help keep you cool in Summer and warm in Winter.

The above three questions will help narrow down what is the best fit for you.
Remember to follow the care guide on each product so that you can get the most life out of your quilt.

Another simple step to warming you up on those chilly winter nights is FLANNELETTE!!

Some people might find the idea of Flannel Sheets to be old fashioned, but we think they are the perfect sheets to keep you warm and cozy on those chilly winter nights while still looking good!!
The way these sheets get their soft touch is by brushing the cotton fibres so they're losened, therefore making them ultra warm and fuzzy.
With a 175GSM, our gorgeous Jenny Mclean Flannelette sheets are thicker than an average cotton sheet which gives you just enough weight during winter.
Available in store for Single through to Kingthese Sheet sets come in White, Ivory, Pale Blue and Charcoal, each with matching pillowcases. Also available are Pillowcases only as sets of two.
